MedicalImageStudy blob RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the preferred way to store images using MedicalImageStudy type? Should it be one blob with all the images with the blobname to be the StudyInstanceUid, or one blob per series with blobname to be SeriesInstanceUid, or one blob per image (or one blob per DICOM object associated with the study) with the blobname to be the SopInstanceUid.

  • Each Blob should store a DICOM instance aka one DICOM file.  This is actually well documented in HealthVault schema, in the page below, the description of image-blob-name indicates the value of it should be "DICOM tag (0008,0018)", which is SOP Instance UID.
