BHM: Maintenance tasks not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I recently discovered that the maintenance tasks are not loading anymore in BHM. We use BizTalk 2013 and have the latest BHM 4.2.

It looks similar to the BT 2016 FP2 issue, reported and fixed earlier.

We have just upgraded from BT2013 CU4 to CU7, and I suspect this to be the root cause. In Production we still run CU4 and this works fine. Production is also lagging aproximately one month in Windows Updates etc with the failing Dev, Test and QA environments.

Is this a known issue and has someone a workaround for performing maintenance tasks?

    Kind regards!

  • Hi Peter,

Thanks for your input! We use SQL Server 2008 R2, that is different from your setup.
All Maintenance Tasks were not showing in dropdownlist.

    But I have news:

This morning there was some update of BHM....and it is now working as expeced again !!!!!

It was probably fixed in the MMC snapin assembly !

    Kind regards

  • Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing BHM?   I had to do that recently when BHM wouldn't load at all.

  • Hi Colin, thanks for your reply!

Yes, in fact I already uninstalled and re-installed it several times since I noticed the issue. Unfortunately without positive results.

  • Hi,

Have you tried downloading Standalone Terminator (Refer Link#1) and see if this works with BizTalk Server 2013 R2 CU7 ?

Since Stable Version (v2.5) of Standalone Terminator supporting BizTalk Server 2013 R2, it should at-least give you a workaround in this issue.

  • Thanks for all your suggestions so far, unfortunately no resolution or workaround seems available.
This tool is today supported by Microsoft, right? What might be the proper way to raise this issue?

I already created a comment on https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/biztalkhealthmonitor/2018/01/25/biztalk-health-monitor-4-2-is-publicly-available/ but it says for 2 weeks 'Yor comment is awaiting moderation'....

  • Hi,

You can directly log a ticket with your valid Microsoft subscription on Microsoft Support(Refer Link#1) site instead of writing on Blog since it moderately viewed and replied.

  • Hi vikas,

This site https://support.microsoft.com/ is rather complex ;-)
DO you know where exactly I can create my support ticket?

    Kind regards!

  • Fresh BTS 2013 Developer / MSSQL 2012 Developer / Windows 2012 single server install
All latest update - / sp - / cu packages installed

Everything seems to be fine with BHM maintenance, all default tasks loads

    Can be more specfic?
Which tasks do have an issue with?
