not able to set system after device softreboot WEC7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    I am working on a AM335x Based device with Windows embedded compact 7 OS.

    Every thing will work normally.

    If I reboot the device using SetSystemPowerState(NULL,POWER_STATE_RESET,POWER_STATE_RESET);

    The device will reboot and all other (FTP, TELNET, remote display etc) application will work fine.

    But if i try to change the system date and time, date and time will not update.

    through remote display - new date time not updating

    through telnet - if i try to change the date or time the connection will lost.

    through code - getting this exception -

    Unhandled exception at 0x800108e0 in Datesettings.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000014. The program '[0x6BD0062] Datesettings.exe' has exited with code -1073741819 (0xc0000005).

    After device power cycle, date and time will updated in all ways (as mentioned above) without any problem. I am facing this problem only after soft reset.

    I will appreciate suggestions.

  • What processor?

    It may have something to do with a secure RTC. You may have to reinitialize the timer in a certain way to allow access to the RTC after a warm boot. This initialization sequence could be different from a cold boot sequence.
