GPS route RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
My customer wants program with geolocalizer which should has the function of determining the daily route for the seller by marking each of the clients on the map via GPS coordinates. This has to be done in C# win forms and also for android deveices. Is there any open source library i could use to achieve that goal? I heard about geolocator class and google maps. Could you help me to understand what could i use and eventually good start point?

For your requirement, you want to determine the daily route for the seller by marking each of the clients on the map via GPS coordinates. I would suggest that you you add a timer into your application, save the GPS coordinates into database (or files) for all of the clients. Then you could get the daily route via the records in database(or files)

    Best regards,

  • To get some ideas see the following.

    https://blog.xamarin.com/geolocation-for-ios-android-and-windows-made-easy/

For Windows form where the OS is at least Windows 10 (for Windows 7 a sensor has to be installed, otherwise it will not work) look at my code in the following GitHub repo.

    https://github.com/karenpayneoregon/geolocation/blob/master/WindowsFormsAppGeoLocation

In the above code sample I setup a watch, similar to how I do it in the same repo for JavaScript in a separate web project
