How to track a received e-mail with ews? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to track the incoming mail. What I just need to know is from which mail server this mail sent. Because I don't want to process fake e-mails with same address. I'll appreciate the help.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

see http://www.infinitec.de/post/2011/08/01/Custom-Mail-headers-and-EWS.aspx on how to access internet message headers on an email message. If you want to track where the message is from you need to process the "Received" headers. But beware: This header can easily be forged.

If you are using some sort of spam- or viruswall in front of your mail server, that service might set an additional header specifying where it received the mail from. This value would be more reliable.

    Kind regards,
    Henning
