    Hi All,

I'm having terrible trouble setting up a web service on IIS 6 and Windows 2003.  I have created an .msi file and run this on the 2003 server.

I can run the .asmx file which will show the list of services available, however when trying to use a service.  Take 'hello world' for instance, upon the invoke method the browser time out.

I have checked IIS to make sure it's capable of .NET 2 etc

Please can anyone point me in the right direction.  Do i have to declare each .dll in 'Web Service Extentions' ??

    Regards

     Hi Tomkmvp

Thanks for the response.  I have actually resolved this issue now.  It appeared that my Server Engineer placed the entire site on an incorrect port. doh.

There's no need to create an msi to deploy the web service.  The IIS "Web Service Extentions" are also not related to ASP.NET web services (asmx). Are there any relevant messages appearing in the server's event logs?
