How to create folder structure in TFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm in the beginnings of investigating our departments' use of TFS. We currently use SourceSafe. I'm trying to read any documents I can and watch webcasts that pertain to TFS and version control, but I am missing what seems to be a crucial step in setting up the folder structure that seems to be suggested. I can create a TFS project and create a .Net solution just fine. when I choose to add the solution to source control, it just sticks it under the main project folder in source explorer.

What are the steps to create the suggested folder structure i.e. main, production, maintenence, etc. within the source explorer and at what time in the process do you perform these steps?

     XTeamProjectX

             |_ /Main

                   |_/Source

                         |_ ApplicationX

                                |_BusinessClassLibrary

                                |_DataClassLibrary

                                |_Web Project

How do you create the folders under the main TFS project folder?

Thanks in advance for helping a newbie!
