YTD for budget and transactions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've got two tables (one that displays budgeting information and one that displays transactions). My goal is the have three measures that I can display overlapping on the same visual all as running totals.

    1. Budgeting information

    2. This Year Transactions

    3. Last Year Transactions

    I think I was on the right path with this:

    CALCULATE (
        SUM (Budget[Budget] ),
        FILTER (
            ALLEXCEPT( Budget, Budget[Account] ),
            Budget[Date] <= MAX ( Budget[Date] )
        )
    )          The issue with this is that the visual wouldn't filter based on department or account selections. I'm thinking I need to create a date table and do something from there, but I'm not totally sure how to get started with that. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

    Yes, you might need to create a date table to achieve this. For any time intelligence function, you could implement a custom DAX formula.
