Adding custom handlers for e-mail hyperlinks in Outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am developing an Outlook add-in with VSTO. I need to be notified whenever user clicks on a hyperlink in e-mail and based on some parameters prevent browser opening and perform custom action.

Is it possible? If not is it possible to do the same with custom protocol (not http or https)?

    Thanks,
    Tigran

  • I don't think you can do that with http or https links, but if you are using your custom protocol and your protocol handler is installed locally, your custom handler would of course will loaded.

  • There is WindowBeforeRightClick event on Word's Application object, but if this can be used (with addition of something else) to extend context menu - i have no idea, you would need to ask Word expert.
