Incremental Deployment Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm running into an issue during incremental deployments. I've created a new page layout and when I try an incremental deployment I get an error saying that the new page layout 'file already exists ...'. However I have included in the definition of the page layout the type as GhostableInLibrary and set IgnoreIfAlreadyExists to true. Am I missing anything else that would cause this issue?

  • Hi

If you are using stsadm command to deploy your incremental feature use option -Force

stsadm –o deploysolution –name MySharePointSolution.wsp –url  -force

  • Nehruraj,

Thanks for the reply. Actually the uploading and deploying of the .wsp file is fine. It's when I'm in central administration and do an incremental publish, which "pushes" new content from the staging server into production, that I get the "file exists error ..."

  • Hi,

Using Central Admin Manually retract and then publish it. This may solve your problem.
