PS 2010 - SSRS 2008 - Custom Reports - Back Button not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

I have deployed my custom reports by using Page Viewer Webpart. Now when I try to put Go Back button with javascript:history.goback(-1), it doesnt work. Don't give any error and don't do anything. Is their any solution for this?

    Look forward to your response.

    thank you

  • Hi Mohsin,

See if below blog post helps. I have used in SRSS jump to url mostly. (a button with href properties like PWA home page.)

  • Hi Mohsin,

I am sorry , I should have mentioned that I didn't test this with page viewer web part. I used to have the report server report url & created link inside the quick launch in PWA. I'll do a testing on the same & verify.

Did you run the report without inserting in page viewer webpart & verify the back button works?

It seems that the "Page Viewer web part" renders web contend in a Frame within the current SharePoint page. Due to security issue, any JavaScript function within the Frame won't be called from the parent page(the SharePoint page in this case).

As an alternate, without the history/back, jump to url on PWA home page & see if that works for you.

  • Dear Amit,

I have tested it directly on ReportServer and it works fine there. The problem indicated in your above article is my problem. As I have two servers, Application and DB servers.

SSRS is working on DB server (http://dbserver/reportserver/)
    Application is working on (http://applicationserver/pwa/)

Now what is the solution for this issue in my case, as I have to use cross domains JS? Any idea.

    Many thanks

    Best Regards
