Creating Timesheets over PSI 2007 impersonated RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey there,

we are trying to connect our ticket tool with our Projet Server 2007 over PSI.  We use Forms Authentication with one central interface user with admin rights, to let him access all Projects Data.

While trying to synchronize ticket tool efforts of single users into the timesheets of equivalent Project Server users, we occasionally also need to create those timesheets.
But when we create a timesheet with the interface user, it becomes a surrogate timesheet, which the user cannot edit without it gets deleted and newly recreated.

How is it possible to create a Timesheet with this central interface user, but impersonated as the respective single user, so the user can further edit it over the Project Server web frontend. Impersonation doesnt seem to work as described in the documentation.

Thanks a lot and have a nice day!!!
    Chris

  • We found a solution for our problem.

The problem was that we didn't call directly into the Shared Service Provider but into the project web access while Impersonation. To do this we had to switch to Windows Authentication because we couldn't find a way to authorize the forms authentication user for access into the SSP.

    Compare this Microsoft Article:

Although this is documented in the Microsoft SDK, a note emphasizing the above would have been good
