Can you use AzCopy to upload files to Azure Data Lake Store?

    Question

  • Can you use AzCopy to upload files to Azure Data Lake Store?

And if not, what is the method of uploading on-premise files to Azure Data Lake Store?

  • I don't think AzCopy is supporting ADLS (yet?). You can use one of the Azure Data Lake SDKs (currently C#, node.js or Java), the Azure Powershell SDK (that includes the ADLS and ADLA PS commands) or the service REST endpoints directly if you want to programmatically upload data. See for example: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/data-lake-analytics-get-started-powershell/

You can also use the Azure Data Lake Portal to upload data or the ADL Tools for VisualStudio. And finally you could use Azure Data Factory, assuming you can provide access to your on-prem location to ADF.
