  • What is the difference between Native Unit Test Project(Test menu) and Unit Test APP(Universal Windows) - both from the Visual C++ drop-down menu and in which situations do i use each of them?

  • Hi Valos1,

Native Unit Test Project is used to test unmanaged code written in C++ code. The unmanaged code is sometimes referred to as native code. And Native C/C++ code projects must be tested by using a C++ unit test framework.

Unit Test APP(Universal Windows) is specifically for Windows Apps which need to be tested. This template is also listed in C# or Visual Basic drop-down menu. When the code under test is written for the .NET Framework, the test project can be written in any .NET Framework language, regardless of the language of the target code.

    Best Regards,
