  • You are probably best off asking this type of question in the IIS newsgroups:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.inetserver.iis&lang=en&cr=US

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.aspnet.security&lang=en&cr=US

But if you are thinking of running a batch file from a user request to IIS - as in the user clicks on button on a web page then you are going to have to configure IIS to allow the execution of the executables and configure the location where you want to run the batch file, if your batch file is under your website directory then the second point shouldn't apply.

Don't forget that IIS can process multiple requests concurrently therefore there could be multiple instance of the batch file running simultaneously.

  • Is the website in IIS configured to allow the execute permission?
