Could not load file or assembly .. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have three projects in my solution, let us name them X, Y and Z. X and Y are plug-in extensions. Y is a plug-in extension and it includes and calls a windows form. Z is just a class library. Both X and Y have references to Z. Y has problem in calling any member function in Z and the following messages appears:

"Could not load file or assembly 'Z, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. A strongly named assembly is required (Exception from HRESULT:0X80131044)"

    Any suggestions ?

  • A standard message which occurs in 100000 occasions, maybe you had a disk error or something like that.

Make a new solution with 2 projects and see if that works, than you know it is caused by Visual Studio or by an external problem.
