cannot launch c ++ applications visual studio community 2015

    Question

  • ehi. I installed visual studio 2015, and now when I try to launch a clr c++ win 32 , console, class, and I use the default name and save it to my desktop, for some strange reason, it takes me back to the add project templates. using a screen reader jaws for windows, from http://www.freedomscientific.com, and did go and modify the setup, made sure the all items were selected, had to press the space bar as it was only partically checked, then press the space bar again, to uncheck, then check it totally, then it said, it modified, did a reboot of my windows 10 64 bit pro version, and got visual studio 2015 community version, update 4, latest updates, and latest windows 10 update. do I need to uinstall and reinstall, or do you know how to get to create the c++ applications, and a work around. any help. marvin.

  • hi, repaired visual studio, and was able to create a windows 32 console c ++, and had to turn off the jaws virtual sursor, so was able to create it, that fixed it. thanks.

    Thanks for your post.

    I did a test in my side using VS2015 Community Update1. And I can create the c++ application successfully.

    So first I suggest you could run your Visual Studio in Safe mode to Check whether some add-ins and extensions affect it (devenv /safemode)

    If still no help, please try to restore the template of your Visual Studio.

    1. Delete the ItemTemplatesCache, ProjectTemplatesCache folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE)

    2. In the command prompt, navigate to the location of devenv.exe. This file is located in <Visual Studio Installation Path>\Common7\IDE.

    3. Type "devenv /installvstemplates" and press Enter.

    If still no help. There might be something wrong with your Visual Studio. Try to repair it then try it again.

    Or you could install VS2015 Update1, may be the issue will be solved.

  • hi, well, a friend of mine david garnedner, who is a mcp and a member of the adelaide .net users group, suggested trying repariing. so doing that, if that's does not work, then will try your suggestions. lecvtuer going to do a skype or google hangout tomorrow to look at what problems i am having. thanks.
