Using TR3 schemas from x12 store in BizTalk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is it possible to use the TR3 xsd schemas from x12 store in BizTalk 2009 projects with out any conversion? Really appreciate some guidance on this.

    Thanks

  • For clarity, "use it like any other message schema" - yes, in that it's just a schema.

"just like any other HIPAA 5010 schema" - No, because the schemas from WPC are not annotated for BizTalk EDI.  I know this is what you're asking.

What message is it?  The Health Exchange Payment 820 isn't that different from the standard x12 820 so I vote you're better off modifying the included 5010 820.

  • It depends on what you mean by 'use'.

The HIPAA 5010 Errata (TR3) message are supported as EDI with BizTalk Server 2009 CU2.  Details: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/biztalk_server_team_blog/archive/2011/03/25/hipaa-5010-errata-support-now-available-for-biztalk-server-2009.aspx

If you mean can you use the .xsd's from WPC as BizTalk Message Types?  Sure, just like any other schema.

  • Hi,Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009  supports the required HIPAA 5010 schemas and also the previous 4010A1 schemas. It also supports the ability to identify the ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes within the schemas.

For that you need to update the below patch

  • Abhishek,

Thank you for your response. The transaction type we are looking for is not currently included in the BizTalk HIPAA 5010 schemas.

    Hi BoatSeller,

Thank you for your response. So based on your response, it is possible to get the XSD for the transaction type from x12 store and use it in BizTalk just like any other HIPAA 5010 schemas included in 2009 CU2, correct?

    thanks

  • Thanks for the clarification. The schema that we are looking for is a different version of 278. We don't have the specifications yet to see whether we could take the 278 schema and modify slightly to make it work for 278 Review and Notifications. For HIX, we took the 820 and modified it to make it compatible. I was trying to see whether there is an easy way to take the WPC schema and make it BizTalk compatible.

    thanks

  • Oh...that one...:(  Yeah, this one is a bit annoying.

As for modifying the WPC schema for BizTalk, probably.  It may be tedious, but not complicated.  The structure is really what matters.  You'd just have to add the EDI annotations.

  • @BoatSeller Really appreciate your guidance on this matter. We are just waiting for the specifications to see how different the 278 Request/Response schema is from the Review/Notification one.  Thanks again.
