Suggestions for MZTools "Classic" RRS feed

  • Question

  • The developer of MZTools has released a new version 8.0 this year with many, many changes compared to the "classic" version that has been available for use with Access VBA in the past.

I am finding it hard to get used to the new version, which seems much heavier than before.  And unfortunately, the old version seems to no longer be available to download.

I am wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way and if there are suggestions for where I might find a "safe" archived version of the old tool?

(I'm not sure if posting this question here is in violation of any forum rules... If so, my apologies to the moderators, and please delete it.)

  • You could contact the developer and ask nicely.

  • The developer's FAQ explicitly states the old version is no longer available to download, sadly.

That's his prerogative, just as it's my prerogative to continue using the software version I prefer. I've been using it for years, but when provisioning a new VM I found I didn't have a backup of the original version's installer.

But it never hurts to try, I guess.

  • I use a very old version (v3.0) in Word and Excel.  I only use a few features.  When I got it it was free.  I see they charge now.  I have the zip install file.

  • Hi Gary,

As you have found, the old version is no longer available.

As you know, this forum is for Developer discussions and questions involving Microsoft Access, your issue is more related with MZTools, if you have any issues about this, I suggest you go to the MZTools Office site for help.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

  • Thanks Edward.  As you say, that is likely the best course of action.
