Is it possible to reset the hwatchdogtimer before system reset in Kernel level??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear friends,

     I am working with watchdog. In our board if I enable watchdog timer in Catalog Items and build the images and flashed then my board reboot after every 50-52 seconds after OALWatchdogInit is about to be called. And I have read two documents about watchdog are shown below:-

    http://geekswithblogs.net/BruceEitman/archive/2009/09/29/windows-ce-watchdog-timers.aspx

    http://lcalligaris.wordpress.com/2010/11/04/31/

    The concept of watchdog is very much clear to me and made ceratin R & D on the functions and macros that are used in watchdog.c file

    The very first function called after OALWatchdogInit is about to be called is

    OALWatchdogInit(BSP_WATCHDOG_PERIOD_MILLISECONDS,
                        BSP_WATCHDOG_THREAD_PRIORITY)

    that passes two parameters

    #define BSP_WATCHDOG_PERIOD_MILLISECONDS    (10000)
    #define BSP_WATCHDOG_THREAD_PRIORITY          (100)

    and both are defined in bsp_def.h

    Acc. to these values the system should be reboot in 10 seconds but it reboots in 50-52 seconds. Here I am confused and that's why I need your help to move me forward and parallel  I am doing R & D on the issue, if I got any success then  I will share the info.......

    And I also want to reset the timer what value I will pass....
