FXC : error X3501: 'main': entrypoint not found RRS feed

  • Hi all!

    I created a new  Win32 project (C++)   on VS 2012. I'm trying to create a simple 3d app using Directx SDK (june 2010), i set all paths of Executable, Include and Library directories but when debugging it I get this error :

    FXC : error X3501: 'main': entrypoint not found

    If I change properties of Shader type to: Effect (/fx) , and Shader Model to 5/5_0 , i get another error like this:

    LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'd3dll.lib' .

    What can I to fix those errors?

    P.S:  I'm using Windows 8.1 and I'm new to Directx SDK.
