EDI Signature / AUTACK RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

For a project I need to sign an EDI message (Checksum + Certificate) using the AUTACK message.
So I need to send a CUSDEC message + AUTACK to the corresponding party.

Do I have to do the checksum + signing manually or can this be done automatically by BizTalk?

Any information on this topic is appreciated.

    Glenn

  • Hi Imelda,

    Thanks for your response.

The message CUSDEC is a standard EDIFACT message that is available from the provided schemas inside the installation folder from BizTalk.
The AUTACK message is part of the EANCOM standards and is also provided in the installation folder for BizTalk.

I did some further research and you are correct, BizTalk does not have any automated process for this. So I will use EDI Batching to send the AUTACK and CUSDEC message at once.

Because I need a checksum + signature on the EDI representation of the CUSDEC message. And that checksum needs to be inserted in the AUTACK message that is also part of the batch. I will implement a custom pipeline component after the EDI assembler, that will handle the checksum+signing and that way insert it manually into the EDI message.

  • Based on my research there is no indication that BizTalk will do this automatically.

  • I have checked with the experts on this technology, and they provided the following:

I know we secure the messages using certificates but not sure what AUTACK and CUSDEC are

We do not think BizTalk has that.

This link that explains CUSDEC - http://syseng.nist.gov/moss/edi-view/edifact-msg?msg=CUSDEC

If we have misunderstood your question please clarify.
