remote debugging between 64bit and 32bit systems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am trying to debug from a 32bit machine(WinXP) that has Visual Studio 2008 into a Win Server 2008 (64bit). I have my SQL Server on the 64bit server. Now using my visual studio on 32bit machine I configured to SQL Management Studio of the server for the project. I installed msvsmon on the server. I start the 32bit vresion of msvsmon.exe on the server with all the required permissions. Everything is fine until I run my query to be debug. It throws an error saying "Unable to debug .Net code. Couldnot attach to SQL Server Process on machine xxx. VS has insufficient privileges to debug the process. To debug this process VS must be run as administrator". What surprises me is the user I use to login is an adminstrator. Can anyone let me know what's going wrong?

    Appreciate any help.

    Thanks,

    Uday
