Test Results folder disappears RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently migrated a test project from 2010 to 2012.  When I run tests I'm seeing a weird behavior in the test results folder.  In 2010 when I run test I open the test results folder to view the output.  In 2012 my test results folder is empty, in fact while running the test I opened a windows explorer window just to see what happens.  I see a folder get created when I start test but it get immediately deleted (or move I don't know).  Does anyone know why this is happening?

  • I fixed this issue by creating a ".runsettings" file.  But I have another question now when I look at my results folder I'm seeing additional folders that are empty.  Are there anyway to auto delete these or have them not get created?

The deploy folder is what I am after but the other folders just get in the way.

  • I discovered that the extra folders are a result of the data collectors I specified in my ".runsettings" file.  So it's all good.
