Cannot boot into Windows Vista after installing Windows 8 Developer Preview and how to uninstall it!

  • Hi,

I installed Windows 8 on my Vista laptop. However, after I installed this, I could not boot into Windows Vista. Is there a way to get it back? Also, I would like to uninstall it, but I am unable to find ways to because I can't even get to my original OS! The commands I enter in the command prompt from my Vista Installation CD says "The system cannot find the file specified" I am desperate for help and any help would be appreciated!

  • 1. In Windows Developer Preview, download EasyBCD, scroll down to the bottom to get the free version here http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

Go to Add New Entry and in the top pane select the drop down Type box for Vista. Give it a meaningful name and point it to the appropriate drive and click Add Entry.

    2. Reboot and choose Vista, install EasyBCD, remove Windows Developer Preview using EasyBCD and delete the partition it occupies.
