Product key help

Question

 Hi I have windows XP home edition. I lost the original installation cd for the computer and had to have a installation cd downloaded on a disk for me from a computer repair shop. I have a product key number on the bottom of my computer but when I use this number when trying to install it says not valid. How can I get this number or is there another number besides the one on the sticker on the bottom of my computer?
