  • Hi,

In cases where you are looking at database-to-database integration, you could consider using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) in SQL Server 2005 or 2008. BizTalk can be used in these types of scenarios, but sometimes it's better to go with SSIS. It might be worth invesitng a day or two in exploring this.

If you do take the BizTalk path, you could look at the Microsoft BizTalk Adapters for Host Systems for the DB2 connection:

    http://www.microsoft.com/biztalk/evaluation/adapter/adapters/BAHS/default.mspx

As for mySQL, you may be able to use a third-party ODBC adapter, or it may be an option to integrate with web services on the J2EE side. If you are using BizTalk 2006R2, you should look at using the WCF adapters rather than the SOAP adapter for calling services. They have evolved a lot since the SOAP adpater.
