WES7 USB Image causing second drive to be marked as "System" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a WES7 image that boots from a USB thumb drive.  The system also has an internal mSATA drive.  When the system initially boots, the internal mSATA drive is marked "System" which prevents formatting, ect when the system is booted.  The mSATA is not at all used as a system drive but purely for data storage.  Anyone know how to remove the "System Flag" from the disk and apply it to the USB drive?

    Thanks!

  • Are you able to clean the disk using diskpart as follows:

    • Create a file with a name of your choice containing following (X is the number of the disk you want to set up)
      SELECT DISK X
      CLEAN
      CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
      FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
      ASSIGN LETTER=D
    • Call "diskpart /s {name_of_your_file}" (ensure that diskpart is running "As Administrator")

    Best regards
