ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized in sharepoint 2010 search

Question

Hi

while accessing shaepoint search getting error

ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized

An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized..

in logs gettign below error:

Request for security token failed with exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException: ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized.     at Microsoft.IdentityModel.Protocols.WSTrust.WSTrustChannel.ReadResponse(Message response)     at Microsoft.IdentityModel.Protocols.WSTrust.WSTrustChannel.Issue(RequestSecurityToken rst, RequestSecurityTokenResponse& rstr)     at Microsoft.IdentityModel.Protocols.WSTrust.WSTrustChannel.Issue(RequestSecurityToken rst)     at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSecurityContext.SecurityTokenForContext(Uri context, Boolean bearerToken, SecurityToken onBehalfOf, SecurityToken actAs, SecurityToken delegateTo) 

I am able to access search service at

Central Administration  Search Service Application: Search Administration ->

but when click on content database gettign error:

ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized.

any idea what is issue?

Hi,

make sure Claims to Windows Token Service is started in SharePoint server

Hi

on which server it should started , in FARM i have 2 Apllications CA servers ,2 Indexs server and 4 WFE servers;

it should on Application server or WFE servers?
