  • User1858009984 posted

    I generated dynamic linq query as below

    var result = from emplog in DBEntity_Obj.a
    join emp in DBEntity_Obj.b on a.CandidateLetterDateId equals b.Id
    join user in DBEntity_Obj.c on a.CreatedById equals c.Id
    select new
    {
    Name = user.Name
    };

    and in the code i am using as below, but how to design the report in RDLC

    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.ReportPath = Server.MapPath(@"~/aaa.rdlc");
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Clear();
    ReportViewer1.ProcessingMode = ProcessingMode.Local;
    ReportDataSource datasource = new ReportDataSource("DsEmp", obj.ToList());
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(datasource);
    ReportViewer1.DataBind();
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Refresh();

    Hi Ravindranath M,

    According to your description, about how to add linq query result to RDLC, please refer to the following tutorial:

    RDLC With LINQ:

    Also I am not clear what specify issue you meet, I hope you could give a detailed description.

    Eric,

    I also did the binding of DataSet to RDLC, but my question is how will we design the RDLC without Dataset at Design time. Data Set will be binded at runtime but no columns are designed in RDLC.

    Hi Ravindranath M,

    According to your description, I am not clear the meaning of the design that you say? Layout or style?

    Here are some tutorial about the 'design' of the RDLC, please check:

    Eric,

    In the programming we will get the DataSource for the  SSRS report using Entity Framework that is fine. and if you run this we will get rdlc with blank screen as no designing is done.

    But before that for layout of fields to be shown like which column to appear in Report (i.e, Designing of SSRS Report) where will be done. Should we do design separately and use that rdlc file.

    Hi ,

    Do you want to generate RDLC Dynamically that not design the table/columns associated with dataset in report wizard?  You check the use 'Generate RDLC dynamically - Table' example from got reportviewer? page  . Related thread which discuss related topic here is for your reference .
