Bing Maps Rest API Pin Image? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We use the javascript api to specify a location to generate a static image from the rest api.

I was wondering if a high quality source image for the pin image is available to use a consistent image so that users will see the rest api pin instead of the default pin when selecting a location.

I'm talking about pin 37 from the rest api documentation here.

    Thanks.

  • This can be done using SVG Pushpin Maker. Here is an example that creates SVG based pushpins with different settings: https://bingmapsv8samples.azurewebsites.net/#SVG%20Pushpin%20Maker. However, in the mean time i'll see if it is possible to get the original high-res image.

  • Unfortunately, the options from the documentation you provided are the only choices you can currently select from.

  • I know that those are my only options for the rest api. What I want is the original high resolution pin image from the rest api (option 37) so that I can use it as the pin marker for the maps javascript api.

  • Thanks for this.

With this tool I can get somewhat close, but I'm not that familiar with svg so I was hoping to get the original so that then it matches exactly. If not, I'll see if I can get this close enough.
