Principal and Mirror Staying In Synchronizing State RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone come across this? I have a database that is mirrored and it is staying in synchronizing state even though there is nothing to send over to the mirror. My environment is sql server 2008 R2. Thanks...

  • How do you know that it does not send? What things are you checking?

  • it is sending transactions because we suspended mirroring and unsent log went up. Resumed mirroring and now unsent log is 0.

  • probably going to have to do the normal stop and start the endpoints and then restart both of the instances to get this going.

  • I just noticed that the oldest unseNt transaction is 16:54:00.

  • NO split brain... There is a principal database and a mirror database.

  • Tried starting and stopping endpoints for the principal and mirror plus stopping a starting both instances and nothing happened. Also tried pausing and resuming mirroring and that didn't work either.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that we had to redo mirroring to get this to work.
