  • Question

  • I cannot open url https://portal.azurestack.local.

    C:\Users\AzureStackAdmin>ping portal.azurestack.local

Pinging portal.azurestack.local [192.168.102.7] with 32 bytes of data:
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 192.168.102.7:
        Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

How can I confirm this segment and how to create it again?

    $aadpass = ConvertTo-SecureString "xxxxxxx" -AsPlainText -Force
    $aadcred = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential ("xxxxx@xxxxxx.onmicrosoft.com", $aadpass)

    .\InstallAzureStackPOC.ps1 -AdminPassword $adminpass -AADAdminCredential $aadcred -NatIPv4Subnet 10.0.3.0/24 -NatIPv4Address 10.0.3.102 -NatIPv4DefaultGateway 10.0.3.1 -EnvironmentDNS 8.8.8.8

  • Hi Scott,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I found the reason.

It looks like browser's problem, it has worked when I change the browser to Chrome.

    thanks,

    Aaron

  • Hi Aaron,

Can you please RDP from the POC Host into the MAS-BGPNAT01 VM instance and verify that it is up and running?  Alternately you can launch Hyper-V manager from the POC host and do a VM Console connection from there.

    1. If the VM is not up and running please start it. This may solve the problem.

    2. If you're MAS-BGPNAT01 VM *is* up and running please log in and verify that the Routing and Remote Access service is up and running.  If it's not running, please start it.

If neither of these are issues or if neither proposed solution fixes the problem, let us know.

    Thanks!

    Scott

  • Hi Scott,

    Thanks for your reply.

    My MAS-BGPNAT01 is running.

And I confirmed the Routing and Remote Access service, it is running.

I restart this service again, but it still not work.

Do you have any other advice?

    MAS-BGPNAT01-confirm

    thanks,

    Aaron

  • I found a system error in MAS-BGPNAT01 VM instance.

There was an DistributedCOM error too.

    There wasn't DNS service.

    Is that reason?

  • Can you run the following command from a PowerShell prompt on the MAS-CON01 machine?

    tnc -ComputerName "192.168.102.7" -443

Regular ping will fail because SLB will not allow ICMP through regardless of whether or not the host is available.  If this succeeds, then the problem is likely iDNS.  If it fails, we'll have to dig deeper.

    Thanks,

    Scott
