USB audio card for Windows CE 5 RRS feed

  • Is there a USB audio card for Windows CE 5 available (my Board doesnt have audio out yet) or whats the fastest way to add audio out ?

  • Hi,

    If you have to use USB Audio then you have to write your own USB Client Driver for Audio (when Processor is acting as USB Device). The other way is if your processori s acting as Host and if you get a USB Audio Device with USB Host Client Driver that is quick solution with respect to USB.

    You may have to see how the audio chip is connected on your board. Usually I have seen connecting either McBSP or McASP connected ot audio codecs such as AIC3104, AIC3106 and etc...

  • i mean if there exist a usb audio card adapter for windows ce like the usb adapters for >= windows xp (eg Syba SD-CM-UAUD USB Stereo Audio Adapter, C-Media Chipset, RoHS) ?

  • Windows CE 5.0 does not ship with a USB Audio Class driver out of the box. If you want to use such an adapter, you'll have to write the required driver yourself.
