  • If we are migrationg a VM of 300GB and replication fails at 100GB  and if the replication is restarted will the migration continue from the failed point or will the entire data be re migrated

  • They are two steps usually sync happens

    1. Initial Sync

    2. Diff Sync

    Your initial sync is  that happens when we are protecting the virtual machine first time and diff sync is the new changes which are happened later(think as new changes).

    If you are reflecting again to the same target without disabling the replicating item then it will do re-sync which means re-validating the changes using the check-sum,  if you have re-protected again then it will start new sync as expected.

    So, in your case replication will not start from initial point, as it will compare only the check-sum of the data which is already in target and replicates the rest. Hope is answered.
