Hide "Page Title" in the Ribbon RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

    I'd like to find a solution to hide the "Page Title" and "Page Description" from this front page. or the Ribbon.

    My goal is to put in a long/ full sized banner, but i am not sure if the banner will hide the "Page title" and "Page descriptions" in the back.

    For example: From this picture, I want to hide/ remove "LOGIN -> HOME", and "SharePoint 2010 demo".

    I know this requires a master page editing. But i need more specific code or answer to hide them.

    Thank You.

  • Hi, you don't even have to edit the masterpage if you don't want to.
    Use inserted css to hide the parts you don't want. There are several ways, you can use a CEWP and insert the css there
    I think this is the class for it...use f12 developer toolbar to be sure.

    .s4-titletext {

    hidden: True;

    }

    Or, you can add a css file by site settings/Masterpage/Alternate CSS URL.
    If, you decide to edit the masterpage, connect a custom CSS and use that to hide the parts you don't need using the same CSS:

  • Alright. I think I found a simple answer to this, without using scripts.

    There's a similar question posed and answered by "Jamil Haddadin" in October 2008.

    Even though this must have not been for SP 2010, I tried editing "Core4.css" and set the ".s4-TitleText" to "Display = Hidden" and that hide the Title and the Page names.

    Here are the steps I took to hide it in SP Designer:

    1. Opened Master Page

    2. searched for the "s4-titletext" from the CSS Stylesheet.

    3. Right Clicked and chose "Modify Style"

    4. Clicked on "Layout" and changed the Visibility to "HIDDEN".

    and this HIDE the page title for me easily.

    Thanks

  • Thanks Jeff.

    I followed Mike's code to hide the title contents in the ribbon. But it didn't do a thing for me. I added the code in the masterpage. So i've posted it on his blog. Hoping to hear back soon.

    Thanks for your time!
