Exchange 2010: Script on the server: How to modify item content (Extended property for instance) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to create a script which would run on the Exchange server side, which could modify the content of emails (like setting a specific extended property) I found a lot of scripts .ps1 (especially those in the script folder of exchange, allowing to retrieve all email info etc) but none can modify the email like EWS do it.

My first goal is to be able to handle the identification of emails with an custom extended property, and then to run some periodic script to set other extended properties. I guess I could do it with EWS api, but it would be way slower and less practical right?

I would also want to know if it's possible to run the script every time the Exchange server receive an email (or move it)

Thank you very much for any advice,

    Thomas
