Why am I getting this crazy effect from filtering records with a listbox and how do I get rid of it? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why is my text getting VERY bold almost distorting the words? It's very irritating to the eyes, only happening to some. Any thoughts?

  • How are you filtering exactly?  Can you show us your code please.

    Do you use any conditional formatting?

  • No conditional formatting. Two subforms in a main form, filtering "clients" and their "orders". Simple cascading filters:

    Dim strSource As String
    Dim strSource2 As String
    strSource = "SELECT pkAdmissionHxID, PatientFIN, IIf(isnull([DischargeDate]),'ACTIVE','DISCHARGED') AS [STATUS] " & _
                       "FROM tblVADAdmissionHx " & _
                       "WHERE skVADPatientID =" & Me.lstVADPatients.Column(0) & " ORDER BY AdmitDate DESC"
    Me.lstVADAdmissionHx.RowSource = strSource
    Me.lstVADAdmissionHx = vbNullString
    DoCmd.SearchForRecord , "", acFirst, "[pkVADPatientID] = " & Str(Nz(Screen.ActiveControl, 0))

  • This might have nothing to do with your issue, but check your system font size. Go to Control Panel>Display. Make sure the test option chosen is Smaller - 100%(default).

    If you choose any of the other two Access distorts the font.

  • Thanks, I'll check this out when I'm back at my desk. I don't know if another issue is the boxes used to decorate. I notice sometimes when an item is inside a box, it highlights when selected. Any thoughts how to disable this option?
