Premium Storage vs Standard Storage RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting error 78026 and 78027 on most of my VMware replication.

And one of the recommendation on deployment planner is use premium storage for two of the VMs

Can you please explain what is the difference between these standard and premium storage?

How can this Premium storage helps on our network issue or RPO issue?

  • The basic difference between the two offerings is that VM disks that use Premium Storage store data on solid-state drives (SSDs) whereas with Standard Storage, the data is stored on hard disk drives (HDDs). Naturally, SSDs are way more high-performant than HDDs. For the best performance for your application, we recommend that you migrate any VM disk that requires high IOPS to Premium Storage.

Refer these detailed docs for more information on Premium Storage and Standard Storage. Also, do refer the pricing section for Premium Storage for billing considerations.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
