[E2007SP3] Event sink to automatically mark certain appointments as private (workaround for iPhone users) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

a lot of people are desperate about a missing feature of the iPhone ActiveSync implementation: they cannot create private appointments via the iPhone GUI. My idea is to use an exchange program which on the server checks newly created appointments for a specified marker string in the appointment title (e.g. '###' or '(P)') and then marks this appointment as private and removes the marker string. The solution should be as lightweight and easy deployable as possible.

What type of program would be the best choice (event sink, transport agent)? Does Exchange 2007 SP 3 still support VB scripts (not VB.net) for event sinks?
