convert bulk old excel file format to new excel file format using ofc.exe RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I wanted to do bulk convert of old format of excel files(i.e. 2003 format) to new format of excel files(i.e. 2007 format). I found one tool "ofc.exe". But I would like to know how to use this.

    for example:

    1) If ofc.exe and ofc.ini resides in

    C:\OMPM\ofc.exe and

    C:\OMPM\ofc.ini

    2) Input directory, where old format files exist (C:\Input\)

    3) Output directory, where new format files to be converted (C:\Output\)

So Please anyone give me the complete solution for bulk conversion. (what do be done in ofc.ini file, what command to be written, any other configuration or software required to do this).

    Thanks

    Ameer

  • Hi,

I found the solution for the above one.

    Solution is:

    Install MigrationPlanningManager.exe into the system.

    Settings:

    1) "ofc.exe" resides in

    C:\ompm\Tools

    2) "ofc.ini" resides in

    C:\ompm\Tools

    3) In "ofc.ini", following settings is done.

    Change [FoldersToConvert]

Remove semicolon(Wink before fldr and after equalto(=) mention the input file path (D:\Ameer\ExcelConversionFiles\Old)

    4) Install "FileFormatConverters.exe" into the system.

    5) Run "ofc.exe"

    6) Output files are created with 2007 version format.
