How not to deploy pdbs to remote system?

    Question

  • It seems no need to deploy pdb files to device (Surface RT), VS only using the pdb on the PC for debugging.  After deleting them on device, I can still debug without any problem.

The pdb is too big in my project (and net is poor), so I want to know how to can deploy without pdb files.

This option "Deploy Visual C++ Debug Runtime Libraries" in "Project property - debugging" has no effect.

  • You can uncheck "Include public symbol files, if any, to enable crash analysis for the app" in the Create App Packages dialog to create a package that doesn't include the pdbs.

The pdbs aren't related to deploying the VC++ Debug Runtime Libraries, but you may need to deploy those if your app uses them.
