Data migration from Oracle to Sql Server RRS feed

  • Hi,

    Could any one please let me know if I don't know oracle syntaxes and need to migrate some data from oracle to sql server, how it can be done with SSIS.

    Appreciate if any script or sample is attached.

  • You could check the net how to retrieve basic data using SELECT statement.

    SELECT <Column1>,<Column2>..... FROM <Table Name>

    WHERE <Column1>='somevalue'

    This is the basic syntax you would need while fetching the data from oracle.

    Use this in an OLEDB Source, provide the connection.

    Use an OLEDB Destination and send the data to SQL table by mapping appropriate columns.

    BTW you need to know the basics to do ETL activity.

  • Better use "import export wizard" to load the data from oracle. simple and easy to load  data.
