Mobile Service Sync - Pull vs Push RRS feed

  • Question

  • In a lot of the samples (or maybe all) I see a SyncContext.PushAsync() being called before a PullAsync() call.  My understanding was if there are pending changes calling PullAsync() will do a push if there are pending operations anyway.  Is there any actual benefit to calling PullAsync() first or is that just there for clarity?

  • The Pull will do a Push if there are pending operations for that table. If you have multiple tables with any kind of logical relationship between them, it's usually better to do an explicit push. If there is only one table, there's no need to do a Push first, as the Pull will do it automatically.
