Unwanted WEC700 modules RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    i'm developing a WEC700 image for our board.

    The BSP was cloned from the iMX51 Mobility BSP.

    The boot is rather slow and then i compiled a debug version to watch the loaded modules.

    The log reports some modules (not present in WinCE600) that was inserted and loaded in the image; example:

    PID:00BE0022 TID:00A10006 CmService:+Service::Init
    PID:00BE0022 TID:00A10006 CmService: MappingsPolicies::Init - done adding policies; [0] of [0] policies added.
    PID:00BE0022 TID:00A10006 CmService: RoamingConnectionsPolicy::Init - policy [not found], roaming connections [disabled].
    PID:00BE0022 TID:00A10006 CmService: DisabledConnectionsPolicy::Init - policy [not found], cellular data connections [enabled].

    In our setting cellular modules are NOT included, so why they are present and loaded ????

  • Are they "not included" or just not "forced to include" by you checking them in the catalog? This smells like a case where you don't force those modules to be included, but something else that you did include depends upon them.

  • They are not included, empty squares in the catalog.

    My guess they are modules tied with ActiveSync ..

  • I don't think so.

    Search in the build files for references to the DLL name "rspcellular" (you can get coffee while this runs). The dependencies should appear in the catalog when you add the dependents, but diving under the surface seems required here. Something is pulling them in.

  • Hi!

    Please check "Connection Manager All Modules" state in the Catalog Item View ( not "Celluler" -> "CELLCORE" catalogs).

    Is that state checked or filled green square?

    According to common.bib, if CE_MODULES_RSPCELLULAR is set, RspCellular.dll is included in the OS.

    And, according to winceos.bat, if SYSGEN_CONNMGR2 is defined, CE_MODULES_RSPCELLULAR is set, maybe.

    If "Connection Manager All Modules" is checked, SYSGEN_CONNMGR2 is defined.

    I think, this is not bug maybe.
