How to Force TFS2015 to use VS2017 BuildTools To Compile C# 7 Code - USE MSBuild 15.0 Instead of MSBuild 14.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Friends,

    Landscape:

    TFS2015.3 on-prem

    BuildTools 2017 installed on BC

.Net 4.7 Devpack installed on BC

    Developing in VS2017

Build error - "Invalid expression term"

How can I force the build to use MSBuild 15.0 installed of 14.0?

    Regards

  • Hi czofnas001,

Did you use vNext build? You need to write your own build task to use MSBuild 15.0. With the default visual studio build task, you could not force build to use MSBuild 15.0 in TFS 2015.

You could consider to upgrade your TFS server to TFS 2017.1 .

    Best Regards
