How to set Local Group Policy by powershell RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to set values of Local Group Policy\Computer Configration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Connections\Limit number of connections by powershell.

But I can't find any cmdlet from Internet. So I come here for some help.

    Any help is fine.

    Thanks.

  • You can read about Group Policy Cmdlets in Windows PowerShell here:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee461027.aspx

Unfortunately RSAT is required when setting group policy by powershell on Windows 7. Since I cannot install RSAT for my clients I have to look for another solution.

Powershell customer acceptance could be improved if those and other cmdlets would be included by default in Windows 7 PowerSHell, imho.

  • I've installed the Group Policy cmdlets but I cant work out how to get them to

    a) query that particular local policy value (Although I am looking for a slightly different one but that example will be OK)

    b) then how to set the value; and

    c) set it to enable/disable/not configured

    Thanks :)
