building NDIS driver with the SDK RRS feed

  • Question

  • Theoretically would it be possible to build and NDIS driver dll with the SDK and the additional necessary libraries.

    for WinCE 6.0

We have a customer that is not able to release the entire BSP but can provide the SDK and any additional binaries (libraries) we may need for the build.

This NDIS driver is already working on another platform and just needs to be rebuilt for the new platform.

So if we tkae visual studio install the sdk and create a project with that SDK could we build the driver?

  • Probably not.

The best way to build NDIS in this case would be to use Platform Builder and a BSP for the same CPU family (the specific CPU and Board wouldn't be so important).

  • Sure, as long as you've got all of the necessary headers and libs, you should be fine.

  • So, could you ask for two, more diametrically opposed answers any closer to simultaneous than that? (:

Specifically though, I think if you get NDIS.lib, CEDDK.lib and NETMUI.lib, along with the header files needed, I believe you should be able to build your NDIS DLL outside of of PB.
