Limitation of web view control while rendering hyper links containing # symbol RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI, I'm redering a html text with links in web view control. one of the link contains # in its url, due to which when one clicks on the hyper link in web view control, it truncates the remaining link(generally this occurs in rest services, where if we type C# and pass as a get parameter it would return it as C). The example url is some thing like of yammer url(https://www.yammer.com/microsoft.com/#/threads/inGroup?type=in_group&feedId=).

when I hit this kind of Url  from web view control, it renders prior to #, making it to be till(https://www.yammer.com/microsoft.com/) instead of till the group Url.

Is this a limitation in web view control, if not so how could I over come this problem and launch the url to the required target ones.

    Thanks & Regards Tejaswi Chandrapatla

  • Are you sure this is a WebView limitation? I clicked on the link and the exact same thing happened in both WebView and IE.

    Are you a MS employee?

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
