how to use traffic layer code into microsoft maps RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am referring the code of maps which I got from some of link. So my question is that, I am applying few code for traffic layers, even my layers are also displaying, but now showing the name of locations beside it means only layers are displaying. And I am working in flash for this in action script 2.0 only, neither my application would run using browser nor anywhere. It will run in flash itself in the form of .swf.

So please guide on this, any help would be appreciated.

  • I appreciate that English may not be your first language, but it is quite difficult to understand your problem...

    - "I am not using the Bing Map Code" - If you're not using Bing Maps code, why are you posting this question in a Bing Maps forum?

    - "I am trying to run that code into FlashDynamix.maps code which I get from some link" - what code? what link? what is FlashDynamix.maps? You haven't posted any links or code in your question

    - "I don't have to interface or not needing to interface it with anybody. So just wanting to run it into flash itself." - There is no Bing Maps Flash control - it runs in Silverlight, AJAX, or WPF. So, if you want to run Bing Maps with Flash you're going to need an interface.

Whatever FlashDynamix.maps is, it's not anything to do with Bing Maps, so I suggest you contact wherever you got that code from. (If it's a third party control that displays Bing Maps tiles in flash, it sounds like it contravenes the Bing Maps terms of use anyway...)

  • As mentioned before this is a Bing Maps forum. the map control you are referencing is for Google Maps. You can not use any of the Bing Maps tiles or services with that map control as it's against the terms of use for Bing Maps. Also, Google has deprecated it's flash map control, you might want to consider using an HTML5 map control which has much better cross browser support. For instance the Bing Maps V7 AJAX map control works in all major browsers and several mobile browsers as well.

  • If you don't want to run it in a browser than use the Bing Maps Silverlight or WPF map controls. Both of these work out of browsers and can be used for creating desktop mapping applications.

  • So many questions....: What traffic layers? What code? What link? You're writing this in Flash and Actionscript - how are you expecting to interface that with the Bing Maps AJAX control?

  • Thanks Tanoshimi,

But I have not asked you so many questions..? I asked you only one question. and I am not using the Bing Map Code.

I am trying to run that code into FlashDynamix.maps code which I get from some link. As I am also new into flash and all, but need to develop the project into flash only for map.

And about interface...I don't have to interface or not needing to interface it with anybody. So just wanting to run it into flash itself.

So please suggest any good idea with it.So please guide on this, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for understanding the language problem.

Neither I am using bing map or its code so there is no question about "like it contravenes the Bing Maps terms of use anyway.."

But still yes I will post the link from where I got this code, so that it will help me and you as well to solve the issue.

Actually I was just needing the proper help, that's it. And yes may be I am beginner with this, so may be posted here it wrongly. So I am sorry about same.

http://code.google.com/p/google-maps-flash-interface/issues/detail?id=14#c27 this was the link on which I am making the practice to make it work out, I am curios about to generate the traffic layers in this with the maptypecontrols such as zooming, normal/satellite/hybrid map etc.

    Thanks.
